Summer 2022

50 REAL-LEADERS.COM / SUMMER 2022 FUTURE 2030 YOURHEALTH IS ALSO THE HEALTH OF THE PLANET The year is 2030, and in the nutraceuticals space, we have forged a new and more planet-friendly path to tackle challenges, embrace technology, and make more sustainable choices in our industry. Consumers are in sync with sustainability more than ever, and many of us recognize that the planet’s health is as important as — and naturally linked to— the health of an individual. We realize that it makes no sense to take something out of its natural environment to improve our health if it simultaneously compromises the health of the planet. As global biotech innovators, we are seen as pioneers. We have committed to leading emissions-free operations in Antarctica during the last decade as part of our sustainability strategy, which began in late 2021. We have worked at deploying the use of green ammonia, reducing emissions produced at our Houston-based production plant, utilizing science, technology, and ocean drones to be more efficient with our operations and reducing the amount of fuel used to operate our vessels. We have been on a mission to improve human and planetary health and continue to lead the way in the krill supplements space. Matts Johansen, CEO of Aker BioMarine THE FUTURE OF CONSTRUCTION Construction is now a synchronized sequence of manufacturing processes, delivering control, change, and production at scale. It will be a safer, faster, and more costeffective way to build the homes, offices, factories, and other structures we need to thrive in cities and beyond. As rich datasets are created across the construction industry through the Internet of Things, AI, and image capture, to name a few, this vision has come to life. Using data to deeply understand industry processes is profoundly enhancing the ability of field professionals to trust their instincts in real-time decision-making, enabling learning and progress while gaining trust and adoption. Actionable data sheds light where we could not see before, empowering leaders to manage projects proactively rather than reactively. Precision in planning and execution has enabled construction professionals to control the environment instead of it controlling them, creating repeatable processes that are easier to control, automate, and teach. Meirav Oren, CEO, Versatile THE RISE OF CONSCIOUS CONSUMERS In 2030, the business landscape is dominated by impact leaders. To stay competitive, businesses focus on sustainability and social responsibility. They find ways to reduce their environmental footprint and positively impact the communities where they operate. The days of solely chasing profits are over, and impact leaders are the future of business. In 2030, businesses are focused on creating sustainable, positive social and environmental impact. The world continues to change at an unprecedented rate, and companies have realized that they need to focus on more than just profits to survive and thrive. In addition, consumers are well-versed in the negative social and environmental impacts of traditional business practices and seek only brands that align with their values. In 2030, we are seeing businesses shift toward more sustainable models that positively impact society and the environment. For example, we have seen a rise in ethical fashion brands, companies that use recycled materials, and restaurants that serve locally sourced food. Ryan Fyfe, COO, Workpuls
